Games committee, volunteers and local business help make games happen.
The 55+ BC Games have wrapped in Kelowna and West Kelowna and they were a definitely a community affair.
"It was fantastic. People just took it on. Did what was necessary and delivered, said Chairman David Graham. "We're just so pleased at what our volunteers did and the incredibly positive experience that the games particpants had."
Over four thousand athletes participated in events in Kelowna and West Kelowna. Sports included Track and Field, Cycling, Pickleball and Triathlon.
The business community was very involved in the games as well. "It could not have happened without them, said Graham. "We had many, many local sponsors. Some were large corporations, right down to very small companies that did their share. Without that we wouldn't have had any games."
Richmond will host the 2020 55+ BC Games.
